are simple yet effective. The Ghost Disabler has been selling itself. The
demonstration model that you have prepared allows the public to have a "Hands

I hope that it proves to be unnecessary to try and track stolen items through

\"We are very active in the community and recently donated our time and your
Security DNA services to the Kiwanis Youth Bicycle Rodeo in our town. The
Bicycle Rodeo is sponsored by the RCMP, the Insurance Corporation of BC and the
Kiwanis Service Club. A total of seventy Bicycles were marked with your DNA and
tagged with a warning label. In addition to the above numbers we had several
bicycles come through that were marked and labeled two years previously. The
DNA was as good as the day we installed it and the tamper proof label was
intact and in excellent condition. The system of recording the markings on a
computer database and issuing a printed copy to the RCMP is proving
successful."
W.R. (Bill) Loiselle Westland Protection Services Quesnel B.C.
"Your Security DNA was a great decision by us because of the protection it
provided the new owner of any bicycle we sell. The bicycle business is a very
enticing place where thieves can get rid of a product to anyone who wishes to
buy. Your DNA deters this very well but most importantly can provide a safety
net in claiming the bike back with the personal marking code. We would like to
thank you for increasing sales and providing us and our customers with peace of
mind. OUTBOUND CYCLE would recommend this service to any person or business who
want to protect what they have worked so hard for."
Curtis Wandler OUTBOUND CYCLE & SPORT Westbank B.C.
"We currently have installed your immobilizers for Transportation and Highways

"Since we initiated this program in late 1980"we have only lost one vehicle out
of 150,000 vehicles marked: and that vehicle was a 1977 Datsun 280Z""the Avis
National car rental agencies are marking their vehicles in a manner similar to
our program in areas where they have experienced high theft of their rental
units such as New York, Detroit, Cleveland and Chicago. Both Companies have
experienced an increase in their recovery rate from65% to 96%. The Truck Rental
and Leasing Association, TRLA, in Atlanta, Georgia, experimented with a
security marking technique"Prior to marking they had lost approximately 25
units each year; and the first year the vehicles were marked, they lost only
one."
Lt. Richard McQuown, Vehicle Investigation Section Kentucky State Police, 919

""there is no doubt that the concept of vehicle marking is a useful one. The

Customer Validation of the Independent Witness Asset Protection System
Desert Cab"s
policy is that no vehicle can be on the road without a Witness box in it. Chris
Krouch, Op. Mgr., has used the Witness data to deter approx. 15 workers comp.
Claims. The Witness data showed a low or extremely low injury probability. He
shows the drivers the data, they return to work and do not file a claim, saving
Desert Cab money. Their incident history was analyzed from 1998-2001. In a
fleet of 160 taxicabs they experienced a 4.37% decrease in 2001 in their
at-fault incidents, which equates to around 29 incidents. Their average claim
payout was $2,528. This equates to a savings of more than $73,000 in payouts.
Simply put, a reduction in incidents equates to a reduction in claims and
decreased operating costs.
C & H Taxi
installed their entire fleet of taxicabs and paratransit vans in November 2000.
They have used the data from the Witness to reduce dollars paid out to bodily
injury claims. They requested, "witness event summaries"to help fight off
fraudulent bodily injury claims. To date, for every summary provided to
claimant and/or attorney, the claim has gone away. Richard Corey would be more
than happy to talk about how he has used the Witness as a practical tool to
protect his assets and reduce their operation costs.
Altamonte Springs
fleet of 60 police vehicles experienced six crashes per month prior to
installing the Witness EDRs. Units were installed in 50% of the police
vehicles. During the first seven months of IWI"s Asset Protection Program, the
fleet experienced one incident. The average repair cost decreased from $1,800
to $350 and an estimated 234% ROI was returned to Altamonte Springs based on
their initial investment.
City of Gainesville
, Florida Regional Transit Systems: Two weeks after installing the Witness, one
of the city"s full-length buses was involved in a very low impact accident. Six
passengers were transported to a medical facility for treatment and the driver
was released from duty for the remainder of the shift. Passengers at the
medical facility were informed that the bus was equipped with an EDR. All
passengers were released with no injuries. The City is certain that the
Witness"objective data protected them from subsequent injury claims by the
driver and passengers. In essence, RTS was able to see a 100% return on
investment in 1 week.
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District
installed 125 buses at their Richmond facility for a 6-month test and
evaluation. Jan 1"Jul 31, 01 = 98 accidents Jan 1"Jul 31, 02 = 72 accidents
They had 26 fewer accidents while instrumented with the Witness, which EQUALS a
27% drop in their accident rate. If the trend continues they could finish the
year with 132 accidents, which is less, then they have seen in three years"
2001 = 179 2000 = 179 1999 = 145
NASCAR
has installed the Witness in every vehicle in their Winston Cup Series, Busch
Series and Truck Series. Each time there is an incident either during practice,
qualifying or the race, the Witness records the events. The data from the
Witness is then entered into the IWI ASIP database along with all the incident
data. ASIP is accruing; vehicle damages, track conditions, incident locations
(corners), temperatures, injuries, etc. All this information can be queried to
see if one corner on a track stands out, track conditions, etc. NASCAR is using
the data to improve safety.
